This was my fourth series of hand carved and sculpted beams.
Each beam spans twenty feet and is made from excellent quality, local Sitka spruce. Pricing ranges from US$1,000 to US$3,000 per beam depending on the level of carving and sculpting detail.
There are seven beams in this series.
As a set, these beams will be a beautiful structural highlight in a large public or private space such as a community hall, restaurant, gallery, library, conference center or great room. In addition the high quality and natural properties of Sitka spruce create an excellent springy floor above for dancing or other active uses.
All motifs are based on the Northwest environment. For these beams, Volker worked a design featuring the lives of the pacific salmon.
