NLU Weekly #65 (March 8, 2008) - We're In 3-D (So Use It)!
Welcome to NLU Weekly six-t-5! This one is called "We're In 3-D (So Use It)!" and it's going to be another pretty short one, so let's move straight on to the agenda. On this week's agenda: This Week In Games, Alpha's Picks Voting Announcement and Closing Out. Remember this is a 3-D blog post so make sure to rotate your view point from time to time and let's get at it!

This Week In Games
There isn't too much to talk about regarding game playing this week because I played so much Dragon Warrior 7 this week, but even though I will have a fully featured update for it on Wednesday in Alpha's Picks #6, there is something that I wanted to talk about briefly here. Remember in the last post (you can read it below if you missed it) where I talked about Dragon Warrior 7's Elemental Shards? Remember how I said they where easy to miss, but are paramount to your progression in the game? Well I got stuck... for a little while because I couldn't find one damn Shard. Where was it? I will have all the details (and more) on Alpha's Picks but the game likes to make cheap use of it's shitty 3-D element. Basically, think of Dragon Warrior 7 as a glorified Super Nintendo game featuring 2-D sprites with fully 3-D backgrounds... horribly ugly grainy and simple 3-D backgrounds. Anyway, the game likes to make use of this lame 3-D element by hiding things out of view unless you rotate the camera around. It's so bad I almost want to talk about it here but I will wait until Wednesday and show you just how cheap this element is. I also played Call of Duty 4, but I will spare you the details on that front.

Alpha's Picks Voting Announcement
Thanks to some help from my man, Hart704 who made that sweet banner above to "advertise" the voting on his profile, I am going to give it shot allowing you guys to vote for the next game in the Alpha's Picks series. On Wednesday I will list the 4 candidates for the voting all of which are action games; I think AP has had enough RPGs for awhile. So be sure to check back on Wednesday March 12th, comment on that entry and register your vote for the next AP game!

Closing Out
We'll that covers that, I will probably be picking up the new Mass Effect content on Monday and I will talk about that sometime next week and I will try to get in some Lost Odyssey so I can write my first impressions article. I think that about covers it for the week, the next time I will probably write is Alpha's Picks #6 where I will announce the candidates for the next game.
